Semeru Festival is a festival that coincides with Hari Raya Karo indigenous Tengger in the village of Ranu Pani District Senduro. The event, featuring traditional culture and art sourced from local wisdom of local communities and artists outside the region.


Semeru Festival is held in order to lift and introduce to the public about Tengger custom as local culture, especially Karo holidays.The goal is one of the attractions to be appreciated and visited, thus impacting on the increase of tourist visits and welfare for local residents.



This event will be held by the Department of Tourism and Culture on Sunday, 24 September 2017, at 09.00 am until finish in Ranu Pani Village District Senduro.


By displaying the local people's cultural arts such as Tayub, Jaranan Ranu Pani, Bantengan and other art performances starting with the Gunungan parade from the village corners and traditional ceremonies of the Tengger Ranu Pane community.
Semeru Festival as one of the strategies to promote the values ​​of local wisdom of Tengger Indigenous People especially in Ranupani and tourism potential of Mount Semeru and surrounding area as one of the leading tourist attraction of Lumajang Regency.



It is expected that the Semeru Festival will have a positive impact especially on the welfare of the society from the tourism-based economy and culture without abandoning the existing customary values.
